Red face

Taking the story, er, poem approach:

Once when trying a necro sac,
I sat scratching my back,
Waiting for my guild,
To get our small group filled.
Then suddenly I was asked to go,
To leave and come back with a new necro.
I said "sure, hold on,
I won't be long!"

When I was done,
I said "now let's have fun!"
And I zoned to American four,
Eager for some bombing hardcore.
I received the invite,
Thought "all right!"
And suddenly we were in.

Now looking around,
I had to frown,
Seeing four henchman,
And Stefan, the country bumpkin.
But no time to think, I had to die
So I screamed "bonzai!"
And died.

After downing the last ghost,
No one in the team did boast
As unprepared, we were hurled
To the Underworld.

Defeated in par a minute,
I had to admit
That we were bad
Really to the point of being sad.

And suddenly I thought to check
And suddenly realized “what the heck?”
Feeling my jaw fall,
I noticed this wasn’t my guild at all!

*A true story from a couple months ago, and my only attempted necro sac.

Dear GW Santa,
I believe i have been very nice this year. All i do is help out friends and new players. Like i met this one girl who need help on 1 mission, but i have put her on my friends list and have helped her all the way from northern shiverpeaks clear until she defeated the lich. I am trying to save enough money to buy my 15k boots and gloves, but my friend was trying to by armor as well and i gave her my money so she could get her armor. Every time i see someone new ask a question i try to the best of my abilities to answer their question. And a couple of weeks ago i spent an entire week just running new players for free from ascalon to piken to grendich and then to yaks. I would also take them further if they needed to. I believe i am a very nice person and i will continue to help people as long as i live in this world.
Sincerely yours,
Daemon Dremora

Dear Guild Wars Santa,

I know I have been bad a couple of times this year, accidentally scamming someone and all, but I've tried so hard to be a good Warrior/Monk. I always seem to have bad luck on a run, and would really like my fortune to change one day. I've never had 100k, and lots of times I give my money away to people who need it. All I ask for this year is something other than Lumps of Charcoal, and an actual decent present or stocking stuffer.

Sincerely,

Mr Spotswood

Dear Santa........
(sad violin music)
My parents died 2 years ago, due to what we now call "The Searing." During those 2 years, I kept warm by wrapping myself in the carcasses of my old fellow Ascalonians who were not as "fortunate" as I. I have had very little to eat, and all I ask for this holiday, is that you make it so that Prince Ruirik does not want me to come with him on any lame trip across the world to Kryta. That would suck. Also, if I may, I would also like to ask for AoE spells to be un-nerfed, IWAY to lose its charm, and mesmers to gain amazing solo abilities. I have no chimney if you are coming over, but i do have a pile burned carcasses and animals that I cook over. I will leave you some food by the fire.....

Thank you......gracious sole

Default Dear gw-santa

Dear santa ,I dont know if you know him but he's calld Grenth,he's the coolest dude ever hes the god that gives power to my necro.
today I was runing a friend in my guild to Yak's band , and I was stoping at Grent's Statue ofcourse.
I kneeld.
But nothing happend So I sensed bad , suddnly a hydra came and started attacking me I ran Like a bunny to the next portal, anyways what iam trying to say is ,That Eourope had the favor , and the good thing I did was run my friend.

2nd thing thats good I did ,do you know that Time When you go to a Matirial Trader , and you dind out that the prices are high so you will be cold without that warm armor youv'e wanted?
Well thats because people that have to much money from fighting UW and FOW and SF and people that run other people through drokners forge , they have so much money that they can do a -Request Quate ,wich makes the price of the merchandise you are buying become higher with each Quate , Thats why even thoe I am losing money , I salvage Items so I can sell them for cheaper then the merchant's, by doing so people might not realize that they are helping game economics : ) and improving trading system!!!
Thats my 2nd good thing.

My 3rd good thing ,There are always new begginers in games , and they usually have it rough there ,so I go outside of drokners forge sometimes and proceed to a cave with mountain trolls , there I obtain max dmg Items and sell them for as low as 200 gold per weapon to new begginers.

My 4rth good thing this year is that my chracters always had a Rez signet with them becuase after all,GW is all about team work . : )

My 5th good thing this year Is that I run people to places for as low as 350 gold or donations : ) so they can advance in the game faster .

I always help people with missions , I never Insult other guild wars players even if they Insult me ,and I give advices to new players.
I think I deserve a present this year becuase iam actually jewish I moved from Israel to LA a year ago and guild wars have been my life ever since I love the idea of giving and sharing in christmas and this will be my first chrsitmas ever so consider my letter.
your's lovingly

Dear Santa,
Well...after being in Tyria for so long(short actually), i can tell you that ive done several good deeds and i hope people start helping out others too. There are many runners in Augury Rock charging 1k to run and well, i myself decided that the fee was a little too expensive. Thus, whenever im free, i would try to run people to the several destinations for ascension for free. After running them, they would thank me and well..i would feel all warm and fuzzy in the inside knowing that ive helped somebody who was in need of help.
Ive also helped people in quests, where i explain to them the things one must do and embark on that quest with them. Sometimes, people just ask questions in towns, outposts and arenas and i would try my best to answer them. Well, thats all...i do not have wealth or gold/green items...but that does not stop me from helping people who are in need. Well, thats it.
Yours Faithfully,
FeuerFrei

Dear Santa,

This year I have placed myself in a difficult situation. I intend to buy a friend a superior absorbtion rune. This friend taught me the basics to running, and is a constant source of amusement for myself.

I am unable to purchase this for him though. This is in part to lending a different friend 50k for his 55 monk build. I lent him this money a week ago with the guarantee i would be repayed within a week. This has not happened yet.

So please Santa, give me enough money to make this Christmas a memorable one!

Dear GWSanta,

Im not much of a letter writer so I wrote a poem instead:

Christmas is here,
and Im not one to spread cheer,

I rant and I flame,
While playing this game,

I complain and I ditch,
Like a regular old grinch,

I grab that leftover ecto,
Left by someone's accidental let-go,

Heck my main char's named 'Uh Oh'.

But maybe with a generous gift,
I might make a life shift,

I could cut down on pwning n00bs with alt-f4,
Or the old 'Free signets in dist four',

But thats it, I won't give up more :-P

- Uh Oh The Mesmer

PS. My name IGN really is Uh Oh!

Edit:
Oh yeah... I wouldn't eat the cookies, their from last year... haven't moved em since

Dear Santa-
While I know I'm not as saintly as some of the other benefactors out there, I think that deep down I'm a good person. I mean, I like to help people, maybe because I was neglected of help since I played through PvE first as a mesmer.
After playign through the game as a mesmer, I saw a lot of the evils of society, so I valiently sent myself on a quest to wrong those deeds done of the ignorant. How could I accomplish this? Simple, really. I made a monk, in hope the world would crumble to my whim. So, every time I play as my monk in missions, I make sure to take a mesmer and a necro along with me, most importantly a mesmer, because I feel their pain. And, not a lot of people argue if the monk asks for a mesmer to be in the team ^_^;
Then, after playing through much of the game as my monk, I made a necro - I needed ot understand the other neglected class. So, with this character I made a point to help all new players with their missions and quests: even though I didn't really need them done. Then, I passed on wealths of knowledge as I went about bonuses, skill combos, and hints about build ideas.
Also, I helped people in the desert with their strategies, and helped a guy a few days ago with a Monks Quest (because he was asking for information on it in the local chat at augury, I decided I would guide him through it. He wanted to pay me, but I wouldn't let him ^^;
Then, my brother made a ranger to try things out. So, I had this ranger sitting around doing nothing. Well, when I came upong my first (and only) sup Vig, I sold it and put about 25k into my brother's ranger, gettin him allt he trapping skills and Drok's Armor as a gift to my brother when he came back from college (he was VERY happy with me ^_^).

So yeah, I do my best to be a nice boy. And I say hi to everyone in Random Arenas, even though they don't reply very often >_>

Love,
Mikhail Jones

Dear GW Santa:

My name is SmasherOfThings. In the game, people call me "Smasher of Things." I'm not much of a smasher, though, as I prefer to use an axe. I've killed lots of Charr scum this year, though, and am advancing into the Crystal Desert so I can ascend.

I have a pet kitty that I take very good care of. His name is Fluffy, and he receives a thorough workout every day when we go on our afternoon killing spree through the Magumma Jungle, the Cyrstal Desert, and sometimes just north of Ascalon City to help the cute little noobs. It just warms my heart when I see a Level 3 noob walking along in the first mission, screaming because he's never seen anything higher than Level 8 before. I have my own special diet for Fluffy. Want to see it?

Mix eight pounds of Jungle Troll Flesh with the blood of two White Mantle Abbots (Fluffy just loves those Abbots!), the toes of two Hill Giants, a half-pound of Ettin's hair for fiber, four River Skale livers, the tails of five Shiverpeak Protectors, the horns of the Undead Lich, and the head of Confessor Dorian. Put it all in a big metal pot, then take out a hammer and smash it into a gooey paste, then have your friendly neighborhood Pyromancer blast it. Allow it to cool and solidify, then cut it into bite-size pieces and feed your kitty until he's nice and full.

My mommy says you have Melandru's Stalkers pulling your sleigh, Santa. That's great, because my Fluffy is a Melandru's Stalker too! Do you think you could teach him how to pull a sleigh? All this walking really makes my feet tired.

Until next year,
Smasher of Things

Dear the Mad Santa and his Necrid Reindeer,

There are no elves in Tyria. Perhaps if you ask the stone summit really nicely they'll lend you a workshop and some dredge slaves. I would not be too picky with the outcome of toys however. As far as I know Gwen is the only child so it doesn't really matter. Make sure you give her something nice like a restore life. She deserves it for all the very generous heals she provides pre searing travellers.

Pardon the address, I heard to save costs this year the Halloween decorations would be bought back in place of christmas decorations. I am looking forward to playing scissors paper rock with you - I warn you I have been practicing!

This christmas I would like a 20/20 Healing Staff, as I'd very much like to play in pvp with all the pvp monks - all the time spreading Christmas joy of course.

Merry Hallow-x-mas!

Default Dear Guild Wars Santa...

Hello Santa,

My name is Elderthor Everlight and this is my pet, Kibo. Kibo and I are gonna tell you a story about our travels across the world of Tyria. It's been a long struggle for us. Rangers just aren't wanted. But we've done our best havn't we Kibo. "Yes, Elderthor, yes we have," said Kibo, "Tell Santa about the poor kid who needed armor". "Oh ya..thats a good story," replied Elderthor. It all happens that one day this kid is saying that he's broke and needs only one more piece of armor and is asking for money. I talked to him a while and told him about begging, kinda showed him the ropes, and then gave him the 1.5K he needed. He was just so happy...and he said that I was his first friend. I just felt so happy, didn't you feel happy Kibo. "Very happy," replied Kibo. "What about the time when you helped that other kid out with those missions" "That's right...he was a nice kid." He wanted some help out with missions because he said no one wanted to be with him so I took him and did 3 missions with him. He thanked me and said that no one ever treats him that nice. I then asked if there was anything else could do, and he said that he needed money for armor so i gave him 5K and said goodbye. "Oh Elderthor what about..." "No more stories, Kibo" said Elderthor. "You have to go to bed," "You wouldn't want to miss Santa would you,". "Of course not, replied Kibo. "Goodnight" said Elderthor. "Goodnight" said Kibo. "I hope I see Santa Claus"

PS: All these stories are true stories.

Default NO i deserve it no question lalala

dear santa

screw the christmass list and listen to this...

I’ve just had to start anew my work, for a very simple reason, the computer doesn’t like me. It’s that simple really, it just didn’t want to load something I’d spent the best part of two hours writing, c’est la vie, I suppose.

It wasn’t until just now, when I expected my work to come up and was confronted with a sinister looking window that seemed to say, without reading it “warning, you’ve lost you’re work and may punch the screen”, that I realised just how stupid the whole computer thing is. From what I can gather, the man who invented the system I’m using is one of the richest men in the world, amassing over $50 billion. That’s the wonder of computing in my eyes, it exploits the user’s stupidity into money for that man. Roughly in a few years, the computer will stop working and we’ll send out for another one, which will be incredibly expensive and that man will go out with my money and have a nice meal and be chauffeured home to his mansion.

What a genius plan, because I know of people who need to have the best computer available all the time, which means they’re spending wheelbarrows full of money just to have something encased in metal that can make a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO up quicker than my something encased in metal. The sad thing is, that this is the way forward now, writers don’t sit at dirty desks fervently scribbling onto notepaper, most publishers only accept printed manuscripts. So the dirty desk is replaced by a sleekly designed and overly expensive computer desk with a chair uncomfortable no matter the angle you sit and the paper replaced with a computer that not only can hold your scribbling’s but can play you music and delete your scribbling’s at any time it deems necessary. Beautiful isn’t it.

Office workers don’t do any paper work by hand, they do it by computer, architects now design on computers, the world and it’s dog are computerised. The world runs on DVD / cd drives and thrives on having the best things inside their metal case than the next man. At the centre of it all there is one very happy looking man counting his money, electronically of course and devising new methods of plying your money from your wallet.

But what troubles me, well one of the things that trouble me, is if the world is run on computers, surely the computers that run the world can swallow up the world just as mine did with my work. Scary thought, but it could explain many of the greater mysteries of the computer age such as where my house key’s went and why buses don’t stop for you sometimes. Yes I feel that computers can not only be the driving force of the new generation, but the new generations scapegoat.

Thus it already has, with people beginning to blame murders on violent video games, but I think we could go much further than that and shrug off all responsibility of all kinds by blaming it on our microchips and keyboards. Why aren’t I taller? The computer decided against it, it’s all so clear now.

Dear GW santa,

I have tried to be the best i could be this year. So far it has been 4 of my guildies birthdays. I have given them each 4 ectos each. But, just giving gifts doesn't make you the best you can be. You must be kind and help people too. Just this week i have helped 39 people with missions, Pvp builds, told them how to avoid evil scams, and even gave them a few hints on how to get rich. Well Guild wars santa I do hope you like my letter. Even after this letter I will continue to be nice and curteous to my fellow Guild wars players.

Sincerely,

Dear Guild Wars Santa,
My mother and father were ripped to shreads by the human hating Charr. I have to feed off of the bits a scaps the Devours leave when they are done. The only fire i have is the molten ground of Hells Precipice. This year I only want 1 thing, and that is a very special person for my life, I would be ever so gratefull just to have a friend to journey along with because everyone i meet is discorouged to stay with me because I scavage off of left overs and etc. So please find it in your warm fuzzy heart to help a poor boy out. I would leave milk and cookies but i dont even have that much food for myself. I have just spent all my money scavaged up for a vial of black dye to write with, and a roll of velumn to wright on.

Best regards,
